On Saturday, August 10, Dr. Simon Morrison presented “Stravinsky and the Ballets Russes” as a part of the Russian History Museum’s Second Saturday online lecture series.
Dr. Simon Morrison looked afresh at the legacy of composer Igor Stravinsky, adding new details to the historical record and exploring the relationship between music and dance.
About the Speaker
Simon Morrison is professor of music and Slavic languages and literatures at Princeton University. His most recent book, Tchaikovsky's Empire: A New Life of Russia's Greatest Composer, is forthcoming from Yale University Press. He has just drafted a history of Moscow for Knopf.
Morrison received his M.A. in Music History from McGill University and Ph.D. in Music History from Princeton University.
