The Russian History Museum is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a two-year Regional Economic Development Council grant from the New York State Council on the Arts totaling $38,800. The funds will be used towards hiring a part-time Director of Development, who will  lead the museum’s fundraising efforts. The grant was awarded following a competitive application process.

“We are honored and delighted to have been awarded this grant,” said Michael Perekrestov, the museum’s Executive Director. “The museum’s first Director of Development will build upon our recent successes in fundraising, enabling us to expand our programming and share our unique collection with a broader audience.”

The Director of Development will plan and implement a comprehensive development program, and will play a key role in the museum’s capacity building and programmatic growth. The Director of Development will work closely with the museum’s staff and Board of Directors in managing fundraising initiatives that support increased engagement with the community and becoming a top museum destination in the region.

The Director of Development position at the Russian History Museum is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts under Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s Regional Economic Development Council Initiative.
