As we catalog rare books into our extensive library collection, we often encounter charming endpapers — the decorative pages on the inside covers. What a pity that these intricate and vibrant designs are hidden inside the old volumes!

That is, until now. We compiled a selection of endpapers that we are offering as a free download for you to enjoy. In the digital era, these patterns translate beautifully into phone wallpapers.

We’re delighted to offer a selection of free wallpapers featuring the endpapers from books in the Russian History Museum library.

How to Set an Image as Your Wallpaper

For iPhone

Save the Image from Google Drive:

  • Tap on the image to open it in full screen.
  • Tap the three dots (More Options) in the upper right corner.
  • Select “Send a copy” and then choose “Save Image” to add it to your Photos.

Open Settings:

  • Go to your Settings app.

Set the Wallpaper:

    • Scroll down and tap Wallpaper.
    • Tap Add New Wallpaper.
    • Select the image from your Photos.
    • Adjust the image by moving it and pinching to zoom if necessary.
    • Choose whether you want to set it as your Lock Screen, Home Screen, or both.
    • Tap Set/Add to apply.

For Android

Save the Image from Google Drive:

  • Tap on the image to open it in full resolution.
  • Tap the three dots (More Options) in the upper right corner.
  • Select “Download” to save the image to your device’s gallery.

Open Settings:

  • Go to your Settings app.

Set the Wallpaper:

    • Tap Display (or Wallpaper depending on your device).
    • Select Wallpaper.
    • Choose either Home Screen, Lock Screen, or both.
    • Tap on Photos or Gallery to select the image you downloaded.
    • Adjust the image if needed, then tap Set Wallpaper to apply.
