Marbling Magic: An Art Adventure for Kids
An in-person program for kids with Stefanida Luque at the Russian History Museum
Drip some paint and create your own marbled masterpiece! This class will teach kids the basic techniques of creating marbled paper, an art form which has delighted viewers for over a thousand years. All supplies are provided, including picture frames so young artists can proudly display their creations at home. The class will also include a mini field trip to the museum gallery to view examples of paper marbling from the Russian History Museum’s collection.
Students should wear comfortable clothes they are not afraid to get dirty, as marbling paints are non-washable.

Meet Your Instructor

Stefanida Luque comes from a family of skilled craftsmen, rooted in trades such as woodworking, weaving, potteryand painting. She holds a degree in history and works as a Montessori teacher, with professional experience in museum education and interpretation for both adults and children. Passionate about bringing the past to life, Stefanida enjoys exploring history through the hands-on practice of historical skills. In her free time, she enjoys fiber arts—including spinning, knitting, and dyeing—as well as gardening.
